Rest Collective Pop-Up

Restorative yoga and sound in Folkestone

Restorative yoga, sound and slow practice in Folkestone. A 2 week pop-up studio for rest from 10 - 22 March 2026 at 62 The Old High Street, Folkestone, CT20 1LE.

The Rest Collective is a space for you to slow down without pressure or performance, and you can arrive exactly as you are. This isn’t about fixing yourself, achieving a feeling, or doing rest “properly.”

We're offering a chance to explore what rest actually means for you, in a body that might feel tired, and in a culture that rarely pauses. It’s about creating space, and permission, to breathe, to move gently, to be quiet, to feel what’s there, or to simply exist without needing to improve.

Here, rest isn’t a trend or a productivity tool, it’s a practice of care, choice, and belonging, in a world that rarely makes room for any of those things.

Across the fortnight, you'll find yin and restorative yoga, sound baths, meditation and other gentle, rest-based sessions in a calm, welcoming space.

Each session has a clear structure and is guided by experienced facilitators. Everything is designed to be accessible and adaptable. You don't need experience, flexibility, or a particular level of calm to attend.

You're invited to move slowly, listen to your body, and rest in ways that feel possible for you.

Yoga and Rest Practices

Gentle Flow

A gentle, accessible movement class inspired by vinyasa flow.

Expect slow, floor-based movement with no focus on fitness, sweating, or pushing your body.

Suitable for all abilities, with no previous yoga experience needed.

Good for you if being still feels challenging. Encourages mindful movement and embodied awareness. Helps explore what rest looks like through the lens of movement, not effort.

Restorative Yoga

A deeply restful, low-effort practice designed to place as little stress on your body as possible.

You’ll be supported by soft mattresses, props, and blankets to help you settle into stillness and deep rest.

Supports deep nervous system settling, familiarity with stillness, and full-body relaxation.
Encourages letting go, slowing down, and learning how to receive rest without effort.

Yin Yoga

You don't need to be flexible to attend this class, but you do need to practice patience.

You hold poses for 3-5 minutes, with the support of props such as blankets, bolsters, and blocks.

Builds patience, presence, and body awareness.
Creates space for stillness, internal listening, and learning how to stay with sensation gently.

Yoga Classes
Rest in movement from
SHAKE THE DUST™️

A slow, music-led movement session guided by a curated soundscape.

Expect gentle, grounding forms, a mix of supported floor work, soft standing sequences, and intuitive, fluid movement, with space to pause, rest, and move in ways that feel natural to you.

Supports self-expression, regulation through gentle motion, and emotional release.
Creates supportive space to move slowly, intuitively, and without performance.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga nidra (a.k.a yogic sleep) is a form of guided relaxation practiced mostly lying down.

Expect guided rest that softens your whole body, settles your mind, and brings you back to centre. Many people nap, that’s part of the magic.

Supports deep mental rest, nervous system regulation, and emotional unwinding.
Helps your body access restoration without needing to “do” anything.

Sound baths

A lying-down experience designed to help your whole system slow down. You’ll be supported on soft mattresses, cocooned in blankets, with dim lighting and a cosy atmosphere.

You’ll be immersed in the sound and vibrations of gongs, crystal bowls, and other soothing instruments. No doing, no effort, just listening, and receiving.

Encourages deep settling, and sensory calming. Supports rest through vibration, resonance, and stillness rather than effort.
